The Pope

Pope John Paul II left a legacy that each of us as Christians should try and emulate. He dedicated his life to the service of God. As I read about the influence he has had on millions of people around the world, I cannot help but think of another before his who did the same. The Pope lived as Jesus did, as an example of compassion and a love of others.

I had not realized that he was working behind the scenes of so many historic events. He quietly gave of himself and asked for nothing in return. Men like him are, unfortunately, few and far between.
